eraserheads, undoubtedly, is one of the few rock bands in the country that was able to leave an indelible mark in pinoy pop culture and was able to transcend their generation. though i didn't grow up listening to their songs unlike most of my friends (my parents are hardcore frank senatra fans and i don't have an older brother or sister with musical sensibility), their songs had played a significant part in my college life soundtrack... i remembered telling nea that i wanted to be serenaded with one of their hit songs ligaya..and anne used to say that minsan is our "boarding house theme song" when she, ja, rachel and i were still living together in manila during our first year in college..huling el bimbo, spolarium, wag mo ng itanong, alapaap and para sa masa had always been my consistent LSS for some unknown reason during my grueling finals days.. and their songs had been on the background when i was writing my thesis... hayy...those were the days...
but i think seeing all the eheads together is not really meant to happen..at least at this time..ang dami kasing hadlang...but then again, enough na siguro yung maktia sila ng dalawang oras na kumanta ng mga awiting tumatak na sa ilang henerasyon at marahil tatatak pa sa mga susunod. pero magkaroon man uli sila ng bonggang bonggang follow up reunion concert, i will definitely going to see it.
here's a the news on what happened on their much awaited concert yesterday.
and what could have happened if the unfortunate collapse of ely didn't happen? read here. got this form justin's multiply. haaayy..i reckon it should have been such an ultraelectromagnetic night...
*the band got their name from a david lynch 1977 film, the eraserhead..
