of all the catholic events popularly celebrated, the lent is my favorite. for one, it is still untainted by commercialization unlike christmas. well it's on its way, but at least it is still solemn. :) anyhow, although i love the lent, i've never done the visita iglesia. as the name implies, one visits the church and symbolically "pays his/her last respect" to the departed christ (at least on what i have observed. i hope i'm correct.) janine and i are supposed to go to the pink sisters chapel in tagaytay yesterday but she came home from work at pass 1am and our meeting time is at 8am. she asked we go today instead but i spent my last P200 on food. talk about binging on a holiday. but my family decided we go to the immaculate conception parish in bayan for visita iglesia. by the way, we hear mass on that same church every sunday. hehehe..
we didn't left the church yet after our visit because there's going to be a prusisyon in 20 minutes and for almost 14 years of our stay in dasmarinas we haven't witness one yet. it's either we're there to late or we're there too early that boredom sent us home.
after our visita iglesia, i had formulated two very vital hypotheses (1) handsome guys know how to do the station of the cross, and (2) the local konyo kids enjoy pushing the wheeled pedestal, where the santos are placed during the prusisyon, that their parents owned.
