JUNO

out of intrigue, i bought a copy of juno with a plan to totally bash the film among my peers because i reckon it is just an adaptation of a korean movie (jenny, juno) and the writer didn't even give credit to it. but after seeing juno, my hasty assumption turns out to be shamefully wrong. now i wanted to recant any innuendo against this film i might have posted somewhere online.

like little miss sunshine, juno is not a quintessential movie obviously made to garner worldwide accolade. the protagonist is not faced with the grand dilemma anyone could possible think of like salvaging half of the world's population from dengue virus or battling up with self-inflicted insanity. on the contrary, one could pass it as a typical teenage movie complete with all the those teenage hung ups. but what made juno unique is the way the director treated the material and how the writer "desensationalized" the topic of teenage pregnancy. with
desensationalized i mean not devoting 30-60 percent of the film debating whether it is moral/immoral to conceive while still in highschool, plus the incessantly irksome outpour of tears. i like the elements of less dramatically orchestrated yet witty dialogues and intelligent humour which, i dare say, had defined the film. although i find juno's parents reaction to her situation rather unrealistic, nonetheless touching. any parents will initially go ballistic if they found out that their 16-year-old kid had sex out of boredom and got pregnant.

this song defines juno and her friend paulie's relationship. the scene, although a bit corny for my taste, is one of the most memorable ones.and also my one of my favorites in the entire film (i'm being paradoxical again.hahaha!) take a glimpse of juno and promise me you'll see it too. enjoy like i did :)

Anyone Else But You

You're a part time lover and a full time friend
The monkey on you're back is the latest trend
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Here is the church and here is the steeple
We sure are cute for two ugly people
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

We both have shiny happy fits of rage
I want more fans, you want more stage
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

You are always trying to keep it real
I'm in love with how you feel
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of a train
I kiss you all starry eyed, my body's swinging from side to side
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

The pebbles forgive me, the trees forgive me
So why can't, you forgive me?
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Du du du du du du dudu
Du du du du du du dudu
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

"..we felt the imprisonment of being a girl, the way it made your mind active and dreamy and how you end up knowing what colors went together. We knew the girls were really women in disguise, that they understood love, and even death, and that our job was merely to create the noise that seemed to fascinate them."

-The Virgin Suicides(1999)

...Abstract Expression...

expressing in abstract is my cup of tea.which explains my fascination to the cryptic and the obsure.

...the Abstract Expressionist...

febbie anne.popularly know as pebi, febbie, febz and piboy among others.frequently inebriated by sofia coppola films, bjork and coldplay songs, and haruki murakami novels.a political science misfit. an artist bereft of opportunity.an off-key chanteuse.a cinephile and bibliophile.neophyte in wordplay. in dire need of a loyal sycophant.

prepare to decipher the enigma......
