i might have been missing so much weeknight TV since i started working but i never care less since the TV gods all agreed to cram some of my favorite tube shows (heroes and kid nation) in a sunday night.yupi!
it's lord of the flies meets survivor plus sands everywhere. i'm talking about kid nation. the idea of sending bunch of kids in the middle of no where and let them build a "civilization" is rather intriguing, so you can't blame me if i tried to hid from everybody (including myself) at home the remote control during its pilot episode weeks ago to avoid random channel switching. since then, mon and i got totally hooked.anyway, these kids have to stay in bonanza city and be the so-called pioneers of the said town and start a build a town from scratch.adults are barred, save for this guy (the host that so immaterial for me i don't know who he is) who administers their weekly "showdown" and oversees their town meetings (and the camera people, of course). it's just so hilarious seeing children bickering over who gets to wash the dishes and who gets the highly coveted merchandise in the town store without being scolded (not to mention punished) by adults.nobody will be booted out, but anyone is free to leave as they please. the "pioneers" have to work their asses off to impress the council and be awarded with a gold star worth $20,000. it is really easy to pass kid nation as a cute kid show, but there's more to this reality show that meets the eye. the kids do make perfect sense when they're tackling "adult issues", even more sensible than us adults (adult?!me?!weird..hahaha!). i guess the ameicans should start considering 15 year-olds to replace george w. bush. hahaha!
i've been sooooooo excited for the second season of heroes. i never follow any superhero show before, not even smallville. i actually think smallville sucks big time and the idea that clark kent had been a lousy and cheesy and corny teenager makes me want to puke. oh i almost forgot, i love x-men!!as a matter of fact, the reason i like heroes is because subliminally i kinada see it as an x-men incarnate. but i never thought of heroes as merely as a rehashed version of x-men. anyway i can't wait to see peter petrelli (played by the hottie milo ventimiglia) again. but i did not expect he'll grow some muscles, not to mention flaunting them in national tv (or perhaps i just didn't notice it before). haha! oh well, what do you expect. bare chest equals soaring ratings. kidding aside, until now some things are still left unexplained in the plot of this show. nevertheless, i reckon it's the writer/s' formula to keep the their viewers and even attract more audience. i am also glad they retain the character of hiro nakamura and his friend ando. only now it seems that ando will be having adventures of his own. but i kinda feel sad for hiro because he has this thing for girls from other "time" and he ends up getting dumped. not by the girls, but by circumstances.i was also surprised that the "hero" that will die in season 2 is DL. i thought it will be nathan but of course i doubted it. how sad for me anyhow because i kinda like DL's character too. as a matter of fact, i practically love all the character's in heroes, even sylar. hell do i sound like a real wacko fan now!hahaha!new "heroes" were also added, but so far my! favorites are the latino twins maya and alejandro. they're like a metaphor of life and death, a sort of brahma and shiva in flesh.the one sucks life out of people who physically hurts her (now you have an idea which twin i'm talking about), while the other practically absorbs death out of the other twin's victims. astig diba?i can't wait to get a DVD of this! i've never been this so obsess since the first harry potter movie.hahaha!
